General contractor Swinerton is currently engaged in the construction of three multifamily communities, with a combined construction value of $100 million, in the vibrant Atlanta region. These developments aim to address the scarcity of affordable housing options in the metro Atlanta area, as highlighted by the Federal Reserve.
To supplement the existing housing inventory, Swinerton plans to introduce approximately 150 affordable housing units and 300 senior living residences in Lawrenceville, Marietta, and Mableton. Notably, HearthSide Lawrenceville, a senior living community in Lawrenceville, is presently under construction. This 100-percent affordable community will comprise 140 homes exclusively designed for seniors.
In Marietta, the noteworthy project known as East Cobb Walk is undergoing a remarkable transformation. With a redevelopment budget of $100 million, it will feature 132 senior living apartments, as well as retail and office spaces. Swinerton assumes the role of the general contractor for this ambitious endeavor.
Another significant residential build undertaken by Swinerton is The Millery in Mableton. Valued at $39 million, this development will encompass nearly 200 apartment homes. As the general contractor, Swinerton is committed to ensuring the successful completion of this project.
Since its expansion to the Southeast in 2018, Swinerton has made substantial contributions to the local landscape. Having constructed commercial and multifamily environments totaling $358 million, they have played a crucial role in shaping the architectural fabric of metro Atlanta. Their endeavors have resulted in the creation of nearly 1,000 residential units, with an additional 500 units currently under construction or in the planning phase.
